The Not So Pleasant Sound

As followers of Christ, we must never waiver in our convictions or obedience to God in order to appease man. Nor should we allow ourselves to fall prey to the deceit and fake intentions of man.

"People with hate in their hearts may sound pleasant enough, but don't believe them." Proverbs 26:24

We must also be very careful to not fall prey to false teachings, because they sound right or good. Only God's Word is right and good and true. If we fail to study it, we are failing to be equipped with the armor of God, which protects us from false teaching.

If we lack knowledge and discernment we open ourselves up to be mislead, deceived and vulnerable to those who pretend to be kind, yet whose hearts are full of all kinds of discord, hate and evil.

When The Lord gives us discernment, He opens our eyes to see the true intentions, the true motives, and the false confessions, apologies, teachings and pride of others and even within ourselves.

"A prudent person forsees the danger ahead and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences." Proverbs 27:12
