Crave-o-lution!

“By God’s special favor and mighty power, I have been given the wonderful privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.” Ephesians 3:7

We all have them and at times they can become so strong we would be willing to do just about anything to satisfy them.

Cravings! They are an intense, consuming desire for a particular thing. They leave us longing for more and can even become a requirement. There are many different types of cravings, food, attention, affection, alcohol, T.V., hobbies, money, drugs, etc. The list goes on and on.

Just the other day my husband was craving something sweet and he was very persistent about one particular thing-a homemade chocolate meringue pie. Of course knowing the time it would take me to prepare it, I was not that excited about doing it. But after an hour of his begging I finally gave in and made him a pie.

Later that night as I sat down to spend time with the Lord it hit me. When was the last time we craved Jesus? I mean really craved Him with an intense consuming desire. It devastated me to think that we would do just about anything for a temporary fix.

So today is the first day of our Crave-o-lution! We are going to look at 31 of the most important things we should crave. Starting with number 31!

Opportunity-Just as I had the opportunity to satisfy my husband’s sweet craving-we too have the opportunity to satisfy Jesus’ sweet craving.

And today the opportunity just so presents itself. We have the opportunity to receive Christ by asking Him to come live in our hearts. We have the opportunity to confess and repent from our sins. And we have the opportunity to serve Christ by sharing the Good News.

When is the last time you craved for the opportunity to share Jesus with someone?

“Jesus today we await the opportunity to share Your word with someone-give us an intense craving to bring salvation to the lost. Amen.”
