v Exodus 9

In Exodus 9 The Lord brings harsher punishment upon Pharaoh and
Egypt. This chapter brings about three things;

Death

Suffering
§
Loss

Let's look at each of these in detail.

Exodus 9:1-7
§
1. Death-The
Lord begins to press down harder on Pharaoh and the people of Egypt. You can't
help but wonder how many Egyptians during this time came to know The Lord from
these plagues.

Why did The Lord make a clear distinction between The Egyptians
and the Israelites?

Notice in verse 5 The Lord "Set" a time. Why did He

people?

2. Suffering-Something
we all experience in many different forms. For the Egyptians, suffering came in
many ways. This is the first plague of boils to affect them physically.

What type of suffering resulted from this
plague?

Is there a difference in suffering for Christ
and suffering because of our sinfulness? What are the differences?

Did Job suffer because of his sin, or because of

3. Loss-to
lose something or someone. In this case, loss came in a form of destruction.
Hail. We have all been in a hailstorm at
one time or another. We know the problems that come with a hailstorm. In this
case, this is a hailstorm the Egyptian people will never forget.

What
lessons can you learn from these three plagues?
How
do death, suffering and loss bring you closer to Christ?
Death,
Suffering, and Loss are inevitable, with that being said, how important is our
relationship with Christ?
Why?
Every
single word written in the Bible is useful and of great purpose. If we look expectantly God will reveal those
important life lessons to us. Be a student of the Word and let God open your
eyes to who He is.
